Descendant of Adam and Eve and would end the kingdom of Sin

Prophecy: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel (Ge 315).

Fulfillment: Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God (Lk 3:38).

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Col 2:15).

Descendant of Abraham

Prophecy: Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? (Ge 18:18).

Fulfillment: The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham (Mt 1:1).

Descendant of Isaac

Prophecy: And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations (Ge 17:9).

Fulfillment: Which was the son of Jacob, which was the son of Isaac, which was the son of Abraham, which was the son of Thara, which was the son of Nachor (Lk 3:34).

Descendant of Jacob

Prophecy: I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth (Nu 24:17).

Descendant of the tribe of Judah

Prophecy: The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be (Ge 48:10).

Fulfillment: Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda (Lk 3:33).

His Birth in Bethlehem

Prophecy: But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting (Mi 5:2).

Fulfillment: Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem (Mt 2:1).

He would be born of a Virgin

Prophecy: Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (Is 7:14).

Fulfillment: Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost (Mt 1:18).

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Lk 1:35).

Descendant of King David

Prophecy: In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land (Jr 33:15).

Fulfillment: The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham (Mt 1:1).

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David (Lk 1:32).

It would be the Lamb of God

Prophecy: And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together (Ge 22:7-8).

Fulfillment: The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (Jn 1:29).

A forerunner with the Spirit of Elijah would prepare his Way

Prophecy: Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord (Mal 4:5).

Fulfillment: And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come? And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought. But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him (Mk 9:11-13).

God declares him his Son

Prophecy: I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee (Ps 2:7).

Fulfillment: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Mt 3:17).

I would teach with parables

Prophecy: I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old (Ps 78:2).

Fulfillment: All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world (Mt 13:34-35).

I would visit Galilee and it would be light to the people

Prophecy: Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations (Is 9:1).

Fulfillment: Matthew 4:12-17

It would be a prophet for his people

Prophecy: The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken (Deut 18:15).

Fulfillment: Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world (Jn 6:14).

Give sight to the blind and open the hearing of the deaf
Prophecy: Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped (Is 35:5).

Fulfillment: Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them (Mt 11:4-5).

He would heal many sick people

Prophecy: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted (Is 53:4).

Fulfillment: When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick (Mt 8:16).

They would not believe in Him

Prophecy: Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? (Is 53:1).

Fulfillment: But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? (Jn 12:37-38).

It would be rejected by his people

Prophecy: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not (Is 53:3).

Fulfillment: He came unto his own, and his own received him not (Jn 1:11).

They would hate it without cause

Prophecy: But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied (Ps 38:19).

Fulfillment: John 15: 18-25

Enter Jerusalem humble, riding on a donkey

Prophecy: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass (Zc 9:9).

Fulfillment: Matthew 21:1-11

Betrayed by a very close companion

Prophecy: Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me (Ps 41:9).

Fulfillment: And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them (Mk 14:10).

Sold for 30 pieces of silver

Prophecy: And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver (Zc 11:12).

Fulfillment: Matthew 27:3-10

The disciples would abandon him

Prophecy: Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones (Zc 13:7).

Fulfillment: Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad (Mt 26:31).

But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled (Mt 26:56).

Shut up before your accusers

Prophecy: He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth (Is 53:7).

Fulfillment: And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly (Mt 27:12-14).

They would throw their luck for their clothes

Prophecy: They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture (Ps 22:18).

Fulfillment: And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots (Mt 27:35).

I would have fun while I was on the Cross

Prophecy: All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the Lord tath he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him (Ps 22:7-8).

Fulfillment: Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God (Mt 27:41-43).

I would feel thirsty while I was on the Cross

Prophecy: My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death (Ps 22:15).

Fulfillment: After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst (Jn 19:28).

They would not break a bone

Prophecy: He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken (Ps 34:20).

Fulfillment: But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs (Jn 19:33).

They would pierce his body after his death

Prophecy: And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn (Zc 12:10).

Fulfillment: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water (Jn 19:34).

He would be buried with the rich in his death

Prophecy: And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth (Is 53:9).

Fulfillment: When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed (Mt 27:57-60).

I would resurrect

Prophecy: For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption (Ps 16:10).

Fulfillment: And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay (Mt 28:5-6).

God would raise him to his right hand

Prophecy: The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool (Ps 110:1).

Fulfillment: And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God (Ac 7:56).

Serious Priest according to the Order of Melchizedek

Prophecy: The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek (Ps 110:4).

Fulfillment: Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec (He 6:20).
